Shawne Merriman Just Went Up a Notch In My Book

kendrawilkinsondiddyshabj3

Used to love Merriman. Then the steroidsthing came out and my favor lessened.  But then this came out today.

Merriman Does Something Everyone In The World Wants To Do!

Okay, so he choked Tila Tequilla. And no matter what, you cannot choke a woman.

But are we sure Tila Tequilla is a woman? I mean she’s not a man, but she’s probably not a chick either. And she’s ugly. Really ugly.

I mean, comeon. Merriman stuck it to Kendra, so we know he can pull some of the highest quality tail. So we know he doesn’t have to put up with Tila Tequilla’s bullshit just for some ass.

Is it possible Tila made it all up, or exaggerated it a ton just so she could get back into the news. I mean shes only famous for being on myspace and acting like she’s a bisexual.  It’s the belief of AFS that she realized no one cares about her at all, and she wanted her name on the web, so she lied about Merriman being awesome. And even if she’s not lying, that just means Merriman is awesome!

The Weekly Tim Tebow Post

Florida is going to play Tebow right out of a second Heisman.  Tebow didn’t even take a snap after the 8 minute mark of the second quarter!  Luckily his main competition, or at least the main thought of guy, Sam Bradford went down in the second quarter too, so that was good.

It’s a shame though, two players, both going for their second Heismans would have been very exciting to follow this season.  But here at AFS we are officially ruling Bradford out of the Heisman race.  So does that mean that Tebow will go unopposed to the trophy? Well, kind of. There are competitors, but I don’t see them being a problem.

Tebow against Charleston Southern was 10 for 15 passing for 188 yards and a touchdown. And also had a rushing touchdown. He also ran twice for 1 yard and 1 touchdown.

Heisman…here Tebow comes!

Here are the AFS top 3 Heisman guys for this week.

1. Tim Tebow
2. Colt McCoy
3. Jahvid Best

The rest are just hang arounds who can’t be listed until at least week 3 to be official.

College Football Week 1 Thoughts

  • Sam Bradford cost himself a good bit of money this week. And another shot at a Heisman.  If he’s out more than 2 games, Oklahoma has no shot of being in the National Championship game.
  • Ohio State squeaked past Navy. That doesn’t bode well for them. It saddens me to say that Penn State is probably the best team in the Big 10, and considering they don’t play anyone, we could see them in the BCS championship. Let’s hope not, I can’t stand a whole year of Penn State fan loserness.
  • LaGarette Blount’s penalty was probably too harsh.
  • The Irish looked good. Jimmy Clausen looked not too shabby. Things could happen this year.
  • Temple lost to Villanova in the first ever Mayor’s Cup. The Owls continue to disappoint my high expectations every year since Al Golden got here.
  • I won some money in the Alabama/VT game.
  • This might be the last weekend I pay close attention to College Football seeing as NFL is back next week.

A Message From AFS

Truth be told I was going to shut down the website.  My eyes were bigger than my fingers. For two years I’ve tried convincing myself a sports blog, regular blog, and a future blog were all possible. But with school and what not, I just couldn’t bring myself to completely handle all obligations.  And so, I was going to shut it down.

But a funny thing happened, I guess I had put the purchase status on automatic on my webhoster, so it automatically bought me another year. And with it came an inspired feeling to make AFS what I thought it could of once been. So I will be trying to turn this into a respectable sports blog.

And what better time to try than during football season. I’ll follow NFL hard, college not so much, but a little, I’ll cover Fantasy Football, baseball pennant and playoffs, all things Philadelphia.  I’ll be doing podcasts, as well.

If anyone would like to sign on to be writers for the site, let me know.

How To Fix MLB All-Star Monday

Watching the Home Run Derby on Monday night, I realized something. It sucks. The first round of the derby is bearable, but it’s such a long night, and it drags on for hours. Something has to be done. And after spending a half hour thinking about it, I think I could come up with a way to make the night 100x’s better.  So what I need is Bud Selig to give me a call and give me the permission to tinker with the festivities.  So let’s say he did do that. Here’s the way you make All-Star Monday Night something worth watching.

The first thing is simple, get rid of Berman. Chris Berman is horrible. I understand he may have been influential at one point, but his time has passed.  He’s the most annoying announcer ever.  He slobbed the dick of Pujols all night.  He was giving “WAAAAAAYYYY BACK!” to homers that barely made it out. But Fielder hit one 497 feet and he was too busy talking to Pujols.  Getting rid of Berman will already make it watchable.

The next thing is you have to change it from a Home Run Derby and take a clue from the NBA and make it a skills competition.  So what we do is split it into 6 competitions. Two teams take part in the competitions. Continue Reading »

Holy Sheets…Phils Staff Could Improve.

ben9021

It looks like the Phillies could add Ben Sheets to their rotation. Seeing as how it appears the only other interested team is the Rangers, I’d say as long as a reasonable offer is made, we might a #3 that was the starting pitcher in last years all star game. Dude would be a sweet pick up. He gets hurt, but who cares.
